Supports to Encourage Low-Income Families (SELF)
SELF is the community action agency that serves people in Butler County. Most SELF services are available to people whose income is below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Services include employment preparation, utility assistance, weatherization, and assistance to homeless people. SELF arranges Individual Development Accounts for people with earned income, allowing them a matched savings opportunity to build assets for the future. SELF operates an "interview-quality clothing closet" where people who need business attire can obtain appropriate clothing.
